Large Diameter Fibers (LD Fiber or LDF) are being used in several new technologies, like in fiber lasers or sensor applications. In the Fiber Lasers the fiber is used as active gain medium. Usually the fiber used here is either a rare-earth doped fiber or it has special construction.
The preparation and handling of LD Fibers (>200µm ) requires special tools and technologies. In this section we have together with our suppliers set up a variety of preparation and analyzing tools for different stages of LD fiber handling.
